Qimen County is situated at very southern part of Anhui Province, to the west of Huangshan mountain range, borders Jingxi Province. It is a mountainous county covering 2257 square kilometers, with 25 villages and towns and a population of 186,000.

Qimen county enjoys nice scenery and unique tourist resources. Guniujiang Nature Resort is proud of peaks, gullys, rivulets, and waterfalls etc. A big rock on the peak resembles a water buffalo that has just landed from the sky. Guniujiang is also called "a treasure-house of wildlife". As an important part of Hui-culture area, Qimen has plentiful Hui-style architecture, such as old residential houses and official buildings, old opera stages and pagodas. So-callded Double Bridge, Pingzheng Bridge and Renji Bridge are famous smong those old buildings. Qimen county has been known for its folk art, especially its operas, for instance, Mulian Opera, Tea-Picking Opera, Huangmei Opera, Butterfly-Catching Dance and Xi-Lantern Dance, ect.
