The transport system within the scenic area consists of roads, touring paths and cableways.

Currently, there are four roads within the scenic area: road from the Hot spring to Tangkou, from Hot spring to Cloud Valley Temple, from the Hot spring to Mercy Light Temple, and that from Furongling to Pine Valley Nunnery.

There are more than 30 touring paths in total in the mountain, which are 50,000 in total length and 1 - 1.5 meters wide generally. The touring paths in Mt. Huangshan are stone-paved roads, some of them are paved with granite slabs while some are excavated through mountain stones. The steps have quite level and coarse surface and even equipped with protecting handrail to ensure tourists' safety. Along the paths, there are also some sightseeing places, bridges and scenic-viewing pavilions which offer convenience to tourists to appreciate the sceneries and take a rest or shelter from rain. As cultural wonders they also perform the function of organizing and connecting all of the scenic areas and guiding and distributing tourists.
