or by Yungu Cable-car, you reach White Goose Ridge at first, then walk
downstairs to Start-to-Believe Peak of the Beihai Scenic Area. Along
the way you can see several famous Huangshan pines: Black Tiger Pine,
Couple Pine, Dragon's Claw Pine, Crouching-Dragon Pine and graceful
Harp Pine. Before you clime to the top of Peak Sleeping Cloud or Peak
Start-to-Believe for a breathtaking outlook, you surely take a picture
of Bamboo-Shoot Peak. If the top of Peak Sleeping Cloud or Peak Start-to-Believe
is too crowded or dangerous for you, you have a perfect alternate: keep
walking a few minutes down to Shisungang where you can enjoy a quite
and wide spectacle: deep valleys, a cluster of slim peaks, a stone resembling
a person with a cap and in a backpack, Peak Goddess of Mercy and Peak
Buddha's Palm.
Next destination after Peak Star-to-Believe is Peak Lion that's shaped
like a sleeping lion from ( standpoint) a point of view in front of
Beihai Hotel. At Dawn-Light Pavilion, you can see a group of interesting
rocks: two in the middle resembling two senior citizens playing the
game of go, on the left is a man in a packpack ( the same rock from
a another standpoint ), on the right is a onlook -- a Chinese ancient
official who watch them play. On Refreshing Terrace you can view a fan-shaped
pine cling to the cliff
beneath the terrace, a nice crowd of pines, a column of stone looking
like a person with a pig head, Peak Rooster and Peak Rise surrounding
you. Before you reach the top, there is Millennium Bell everyone can
strick for fun, but every strick will cost you 2 yuan RMB. On the top
of Lion Peak, you can a rock resembling monkey on the flat top of another
hill, that's very famous rock: A Monkey gazing at the sea when there
is a sea of cloud, or A Monkey gazing Taiping County when there is no
cloud and mist. A few meters away from Beihai Hotel are two observation
places, one is for Peak Start-to-Believe in distance, the other is for
two grotesque small peaks called Peak Brush and Peak Brush Rack respectively.
